Stay-cation at Hard Rock Hotel Singapore

7/24/2013

Do you sometimes feel so stressed out at work and want to get away. Wish to stay at home to rest yet at the same time want to be pampered. Want to go for a quick get away but find that airfares are costly so are last minute hotel rooms?

Why not go for a short 2D1N Staycation over the weekends? If you are looking for a theme hotel with a nice swimming pool and nice view over looking the harbor front. Then read on to find out where I am recommending you.

This hotel received the GOLD award for the Best 5 in Asia for the category of HAPA signature Deluxe Hotel.

It should be easy to get there by car or by taxi but because we took the monorail in to the hotel, we face a little difficulty navigating our way there. Like most hotels, check in time is at 3pm and check out is at 12pm. Plan your time wisely!

Photo above shows the hotel lobby, the Hard Rock Shop which we did not purchase anything and look more into.

You will also find the restaurant named "STARZ Restaurant" where we had our breakfast which we did not enjoy much. There was no element of surprise, I somehow felt that food at the country clubs seems way much better and tastier than this. However, I must say that the porridge had many different condiments and it was a nice touch to offer Kaya and Peanut butter spread on their bread section. The service provided by the restaurant staff was also mediocre.

I do enjoy our rock style hotel room though it was a little small. I like the design of the room and the wash-room looks rocking fabulous!

Anyone knows which rock band is this?

Did you get it correct?
They are the UK Bee Gees!

The view was also great. We had the view of the harbour front overlooking the new Marine Cove. At night, we could also catch reflections of the sharks swimming in the what seem like "quarantined" area. Which guest relations officer told my husband "this room can see dolphins". ;/

As it was raining, you can see the skies looks a little gloomy. So we took a short nap, showered to refresh before we head for the swimming pool and dinner.

This hotel is located within Resorts World Sentosa, so if you are going for Universal Studios or the SEA Aquarium, this will be a nice place to stay. You can plan your itinerary around those places and of course some shopping at Vivo City Mall.

Dinner has proved to be very challenging in this place. If you are looking for affordable food, perhaps my recommendation is to eat in Vivo City, or else if you have a little bit more to spare. Check out our dinner at Ding Tai Fung. The following can be achieved with with a budget of $50 for 2 person. Pretty decent I would say. But be prepared to wait for 45 minutes to an hour on a weekend night.

My husband's order of Prawn Fried Rice.

My order of Pork Chop Fried Rice.

Soup Dumplings to be shared by both of us.

It is a good idea to order Hot Jasmine tea after eating so much rice! The tea is refillable, so feel free to have more cups if you wish! We had a filling dinner and took a short walk back to our hotel before we end off the night.
